Who we are

Margery has been designing and making clothing since she was 13.  In 1990 she took her first weaving class at the Manning’s in East Berlin, PA.  Other weaving instruction continued through workshops and home study courses. She believes practice and perseverance helped her become an accomplished weaver.

She designs and weaves her fabric in a log home she and her husband Chris built in 1989.  A studio addition was added in 1997.  Chris and Margery welcome guests to visit their home and studio.  You can see the looms in operation or take an individualized weaving or spinning class.

Margery has been a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen since 1991.  She is a master craftsman in hand weaving.  She creates most of her fabric by hand, dying the yarns before they are woven.  In addition, she designs patterns and weaving kits for other weavers.

Her formal education includes a degree in Social Science from Penn State and a Master’s degree from Millersville University in Special Education.  In addition, Margery is an accredited T’ai Chi Chih instructor, and a retired special education teacher.
