Cape/Shawl coat Tencel Handwoven Hand Dyed (Copy)
Cape/Shawl coat Tencel Handwoven Hand Dyed
Fiber: Tencel yarn is soft and drapes well. It breathes and can be worn in all seasons: under a coat in the winter over a sundress or top in the spring, summer, or fall.
Weave: Twill variation
Colors: Terra cotta
Approximate measurements:
Front panels are approximately 23” long
Back 31” long
Arm opening circumference- 20 inches
Machine washable - cold water gentle cycle
Dry in dryer
The yarn was measured for the warp; hand dyed using several different colors, producing a variegated effect. Approximately 25 yards of fabric is woven from each warp that is dyed. The fringe it is hand twisted. All fabric is machine washed and dried after the item is woven.
My favorite part is watching as the thread weave together creating subtle shading changes. While weaving I can only see about 12 inches of finished fabric. After weaving it's exciting to watch the fabric wind off the loom.
