Shawl Poncho Handwoven Hand Dyed -
Tencel Poncho Handwoven Hand Dyed
No fringe
Approximately
Size: Sewn and folded - 20” by 26” folded
The neck opening is about 28 circumference and 14 flat - This allows for a nice drape around the neck and shoulders.
Machine washable - cold water gentle cycle
Dry in dryer
The yarn was measured for the warp; hand dyed using several different colors, producing a variegated effect. Approximately 25 yards of fabric is woven from each warp that is dyed.
My favorite part is watching as the thread weave together creating subtle shading changes. While weaving I can only see about 12 inches of finished fabric. After weaving it's exciting to watch the fabric wind off the loom.
The poncho can be worn three/four ways. Side over the left shoulder, over the right shoulder, seam in front (as a scarf) or in the back. The yarn for the warp and weft were both hand dyed. As a result fabric has subtle color variations. Each way it is worn will look slightly different.
It can be worn as a poncho, scarf, or draped as a cowl.
Fiber: Tencel yarn is soft and drapes well. It breathes and can be worn in all seasons: under a coat in the winter over a sundress or top in the spring, summer, or fall.
